Climatologists experts, from African Centre of Meteorological Applications for Development (ACMAD), Météo France Réunion, Indian Ocean Commission, Seychelles Meteorology Authority, representatives from National Meteorological and Hydrological Services of South-West Indian Ocean Region in charge of monitoring and developing information in assessment of the expected cyclone activity over the South-West Indian Ocean basin for the rainy season, met from 19 to 23 September 2016 in Victoria, Seychelles to develop an assessment of current regional climate conditions and related water resources; precipitation outlook for the next 3 months across sub-region (Oct-Nov-Dec2016 and January 2017); and cyclone activity outlook for the upcoming rainy season for the South-West Indian Ocean basin. They benefited from the technical expertise of representatives of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO ), Météo France Réunion, Indian Ocean Commission. The seasonal forecast is the result of a consensus around products made by forecasting models and current knowledge of climate variability in the sub region Thus, the results of this forecast gives the likely trends in rainfall totals for the period of October-November-December 2016 and November-December 2016-January 2017 periods start of the rainy season, cyclone activity and the forum also offered Temperatures outlook.
